LiveSport Telecom New Zealand Women’s Match Racing Championships - Preview


Five Kiwi teams will be battling for the LiveSport Telecom New Zealand Women’s Match Racing Championships title in the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron’s new fleet of Elliott 7m keelboats. In addition to the national title the teams will be racing for a chance to represent New Zealand in the ISAF Nations Cup Regional Final in Sydney, Australia later this year.

Among the teams competing are the Koru Match Team led by skipper Stephanie Hazard fresh off a win at the 2011 Musto Wellington Match Race Cup. Defending National Champion Sam Osborne and her Silver Sails Racing Team will be looking to defend their title and win the chance to go to Sydney. The remaining skippers are Danielle Bowater (runner-up last week in Welliington), Jessica McDowell, and Olivia Powrie.
