Women’s Match Race Yachtclub Romanshorn - Final
Super conditions on the second day at the Women’s Match Racing Championship in Romanshorn, Switizerland.

(30.08.10) NTH / The excellent conditions from Saturday continued on Sunday: The wind died down a little over 2 to a maximum of 3 Beaufort South but for the sun began to appear and it was was pleasant. Later, the wind shifted to west as predicted and so the races were held in a spectator-friendly perfectly area near the pier.

The three final flights of the second Round Robin were completed around noon. The favorite team from the Yacht Club Horgen, Alexa Bezel, and Livia Naef from the Yacht Club Arbon concluded with a total of nine points each from 10 races. Melanie Lederer of Yacht Club Romanshorn was to place third while Anja Hotz from Zurich Yacht Club was 4th Place (winning the tie-break with Madlen Frey, the only German team).

The Finals and Petit Finals started until around 14.00 clock. These were both to be sailed as "the first to three points"!

The Petit Final between Hotz and Lederer saw Lederer take the bronze medal with a score of 3-1. In the Grand Final Bezel took a 2-0 lead, but Naef came back and won three straight to win the Championship 3-2.

Super Verhältnisse auch am zweiten Tag
(30.08.10) NTH/Die ausgezeichneten Verhältnissen vom Samstag setzten sich in anderer Form am Sonntag fort: Der Wind flaute etwas ab auf 2 bis maximal 3 Beaufort aus Süden doch dafür begann die Sonne zu scheinen und es wurde angenehm war. Später drehte der Wind wie angekündigt auf West und so konnten die Rennen zuschauer-freundlich optimal vor der Hafenmole ausgetragen werden.

Die drei letzten Flight von der 2. Round Robin konnten gegen Mittag abgeschlossen werden. Die Favoriten Teams Alexa Bezel vom Yachtclub Horgen und Livia Naef vom Yachtclub Arbon schlossen mit total je 9 Punkten aus 10 Races. Auf Platze 3 lag Melanie Lederer vom Yachtclub Romanshorn während Anja Hotz vom Yachtclub Zürich den 4. Platz belegte, sie war Punktgleich mit mit Madlen Frey dem einzigen deutschen Team.

Eine kompliziertere Protestsituation verzögerte den Start der Finals, sodass erst gegen 14.00 Uhr der kleine Final und der grosse Final gestartet werden konnten. Gesegelt wurde in beiden auf 3 Punkte!

Die Resultate im kleinen kleinen Final Lederer gegen Hotz waren 1:0 / 1:1 / 2:1 und dann 3:1. Im grossen Final war der Verlauf Bezel gegen Naef schon dramatischer 1:0 / 2:0 / 2:1 / 2:2 und dann 2:3!
