FRENCH SKIPPERS LEADING AFTER DAY ONE OF THE PUNTA LAGOA TROPHY GRADE 3
(written by Secundino Cigarron Guldris, edited by Liz Baylis)

The Grade 3 Punta Lagoa Trophy began today with winds that finally grew to a strong 16 knots in the afternoon. Ten skippers are competing in this event: 5 from France (Doulos Mailys, Delphine Casas, Julie Bossard, Matilde Geron, and Annie Bertin); 4 from Spain (María Campos, Sandra Azon, Mar Castanedo, and Amelia Gomez); and 1 from Portugal (Catalina Lopes).

10 SUN FAST Boats are being provided and the sailors are enjoying the excellent organization in a club with good resources.

On the water it was a tough day at the beginning with very light winds, which only allowed the completion of 1 flight. After 5 hours waiting, strong wind from NNE about 16 knots allowed the running of 3 more flights. Very exciting matches were between some competitors as Bertin vs Bossard and Delphine Casas vs Sandra Azon, and between spanish skippers Campos vs Azon.
